The Official TNOTW Commemorative Award by Hester Keijser

mould
Hester Keijser made a mould off a leaf from the Canadian maple tree in This Neck of the Woods.
Hester then melted tin to cast medallions of the leaf.
medallions
Shown here just after they were pulled from the mould, these medallions will be awarded to each resident from This Neck of the Woods. Hester filed and refined these leaves and hung them from ribbons to be pinned to the chests of each TNOTW participant. She thought that these medallions would allow residents to spot each other wherever they were in the world. Each medallion comes with an official certificate of authenticity and will be presented by the resident technician during the Knock on Woods tour.

Hester Keijser (Arnhem, NL) was an official resident in This Neck of the Woods 14,15 December, 2006.

Hester's residency and project were made possible with the generous support of het Fonds voor beeldende kunsten, vormgeving en bouwkunst (the Netherlands).
