Flow Market by Carole Larsen

HOW TIME WAS SPENT:

Arranged curtain, went through box. Read Buddha book and part of Segment by candlelight because all I could hear was the buzz of the power supply. So I turned it off and listened to the people around finishing their day and to the trains passing by. They sound like heavy rain. I lay in the dark and identify other things; the cabin settling, the cat stomping on the step outside. After 3 weeks being far too hot it's chilly. It's nice and starts to rain.

WHAT IS THE CUMULATIVE RESULT OF STAY:

I've been travelling for 3 weeks and mostly falling asleep to the sound of the tv to block out the noise of the other travellers. It was difficult to relax without the artificial white noise and I found myself fighting the effect of the cabin at first. Muscle twitches and jerking myself awake at the introduction of a new sound, then finally relaxing and sleeping. Woke up without an alarm, still listening to the train. One of the better mornings of my trip.
